General Care for Lotus Plant

Sunlight Requirement : Lotus Plants need minimum of 3 to 4 hours of direct sunlight for good blooming . Below than this recommended duration , plant will grow without any issue but blooming will be less.

Pot : Round pot is always better for lotus plants . Take any round pot made of either clay or ceramic or cement or plastic . Make sure that there is no hole at the bottom as lotus plant need constant water logging. Below is the recommended pot size

For Micro Cultivers : Pot diameter : 6-8 inch. Pot depth : 6 inch
For Bowl Cultivers : Pot diameter : 10-12 inch. Pot depth : 8 inch
For Medium Cultivers : Pot diameter : 18 inch. Pot depth : 10 inch
For Large Cultivers : Pot diameter : 22 inch or bigger. Pot depth : 10-14 inch

Media : Normal garden soil and compost ( vermicompost or cow dung compost ) in 6:1 ratio. We receommend Lotus specific fartilizer addon for better result.
mix all the ingredients well and fill in the pot . Make sure top 3 inch is filled with water only. Keep this media for 7 days then plant your tuber.
